Beech Cottage

Beech Cottage is the far left of the front cottages and is affectionately known as ‘the upside down house’. The main living/dining room, kitchen and a twin bedroom are all located on the first floor, to take advantage of the rural views, especially through the double French doors which can be opened to let the sunlight and birdsong flood into the living room. The living room also has an open fire for those cooler evenings and is furnished with comfortable cottage style armchairs and sofa, together with a television. The kitchen has oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and hopefully all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need for your stay.

The ground floor has a double bedroom to the front, a further twin bedroom and a shower room with basin and toilet, to the rear.

There is a low beam across the hallway and lowish beams throughout the ground floor, which can be the occasional peril to those over 6’.

Beech Cottage is rated at the top end of three stars by ETC and due to its layout is suitable for couples through to families of up to six people. With the living accommodation being on the first floor it is not suitable for those who have difficulties with stairs, who would be better suited to The Roundhouse, Pond Meadow or Little Leighs.

There is a small private garden with seating to the front of the cottage, where you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy the peace and quiet.

We do allow one large or up to two small dogs to stay in this cottage. All breeds are welcome, once they have passed puppy training, but we ask that dogs are not left unattended in the cottage and that they are kept on a lead around the cottage gardens. There is a small copse at the rear of the cottages where your dog can be exercised.

This has been a gorgeous week – the cottage is so cosy and has really felt like home away from home. It has been so nice to let the kids out to play and feel that they are safe.

Ground Floor - Entrance porch. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Shower room with WC and wash basin.

First Floor - Bedroom 3 with twin beds. Living room with wood-burning stove, colour TV and DVD player. Dining area. Kitchen with electric cooker, hob and microwave oven. Fridge and automatic washer/dryer.

All Cottages - Inclusive: Bed Linen (duvets). First basket of logs and bucket of coal. Night storage heaters throughout. Garden furniture and barbecues.
